Offlith is a registered and protected name for a special printing technique that combines the advantages of intaglio, letterpress and offset printing by eliminating the so-called raster effect, which is a fundamental shortcoming of standard printed reproductions. Offlith excels in the maximum possible quality in the case of watercolours, colour drawings, lithographs, aquatints and mezzotints, where the difference between the original and the reproduction almost disappears. In particular, Offlith also achieves a whole new level of reproduction for black and white and colour photographs, where it can either reproduce the grain of the master at high magnification or, conversely, achieve absolutely smooth valences for the finest tones.
