The new and considerably expanded edition of Dr. Jan Lipa's book describes the philosophy and practice of probably the oldest Czechoslovak Buddhist school - the Teaching of Fráni Drtikol, which has been preserved to this day thanks to the author of this book and his friends. It conveys in understandable words what has been experienced and puts it in context with important sources of Buddhist literature. The book contains a selection of important samizdat translations by Fráni Drtikol, which are now being published in book form for the first time. The individual texts have been chosen to relate to the content of the book as a whole and to which the author, in the context of the Teachings of Fráni Drtikol, refers. Drtikol used these translations to teach his pupils, for whom he also made them. Newly, we also find here a detailed analysis of the Word of the Buddha, exactly in the context of the spiritual practice that Drtikol transmitted. The book provides a much-needed system for practice by which enlightenment can be attained. In this book and during his lifetime, the author transmits the teachings of Fráni Drtikol directly as he received them from his master, Eugene Stekel (1921-2001), and from František Drtikol (1883-1961) himself, who brought the practice of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism to us.
